Cupertino Tournament Date Change

I am not sure when and why but the Cupertino Judo Club has changed the date of their tournament from March 8 to March 1. Because of this change Team Sacramento will not be attending the tournament. As always anyone who wishes to go to a tournament that we are not going to as a team is welcome to attend idividually. I will look over the schedule and try to find an alernative tournament to attend. Please forgive the confusion and stay tuned for an alternate plan for March.

Results of Makimoto Judo Tournament

We had a great time at the inaugural Makimoto Judo Tournament in Vacaville on February 21, 2009. Thank you to our host Makimoto P.A.L. Judo for putting on such a great event. Team Sacramento placed 84% of our competitors, and had many outstanding performances. I was very pleased with the team effort and now we know what we have to work on. We had 18 competitors competing in 19 divisions with the following results:

Conrad Perez

I missed one very good competitor from Sunday. Conrad Perez (AKA HAWK) fought excellent and went 3-1 good for second place. Congratulations HAWK!

Monday February 16 Practice

Great practice last night! Over 30 judoka. We found out what makes Goodall Sensei really angry. We also found out that we don't like him when he is angry. We were able to talk about the tournament and individual performances. We then went to work with crash pad throwing and several good hard rounds of ne-waza. UTC also unveiled our motto on the wall so now everyone knows what day it is.
